Lake Ovid West Entrance Now Open

The short-cut entrance from Shepardsville Rd. to Lake Ovid is now open.

It wasn't open on Sunday.

It was open on Thursday all day, and on Saturday morning. When I left Saturday afternoon, it was closed again.

Thanks for the updates, guys. I guess I don't know when to expect it will be open or when it will be closed.

Yeah; and it's a royal pain in the adz to turn around if you decide to check to see if it's open, and it's not.

They DID put up signs that said the road around the lake will not be plowed when it snows, though. Did you see them? That must mean they plan to keep the night entrance open...

No, I think I missed 'em, but that seems to corroborate what I thought was the case in years past. I thought once they opened this short-cut gate during the daylight hours in the fall, it was pretty much open for the remainder of the fall and winter. It surprised me a little to hear you guys say that they're closing and reopening it so much. Maybe my memory of previous years is failing...
