Morrums
I have five, two 5600's and three 6600's. They are a good reel with a couple of small quirks. They are discontinuing them from Abu due to a problem getting the replacement mainframes. Parts availability should not be a problem for the next couple of years.

how do they perform
Do you own anything else you can compare them to? How do they perform? Smoother than 6500's. I have four C3's. Do you think they are not manufacturing them anymore? So what is out there is what the shops have now? Thanks.
I have two 5600 Morrums and one 6600 Morrum , I do like the 6600 over the 5600's, as well as 3 C-3's. Comparing the C3's to the Morrums, C3 are solid workhorse reels but the Morrum is precision. The Morrum has five stainless bearings to two, the drag and breaking systems on the Morrums are noticeably superior. It is definitely a much smoother reel. Not to mention how solid they are. The C3's are more of a no frills reel. The thumb bar being behind the spool at the back of the reel on the Morrum makes it so much easier the disengage the reel for figure eighting and to fire the next cast. As Kevin had mentioned there are couple of minor problems with the Morrums, they are the same wear and tear problems you get from almost all Abu reels. I would say get the Morrum it is the Cadillac of bait-casters(of course I do prefer the BMW of bait-casters the Daiwa millionaire but that's not the question).

Re: Morrum
You may like to take a look at the ABU JB5601, a superior reel that has proved a hit in Europe. It is a 5500 size, available left hand only (preferred in Europe), all stainless steel gears, thumbbar release, extra strong instant anti-reverse, heavy duty frame. Down side is they weigh about 2oz more than the standard 5500 and around $150. More information cqn be found at www.fishingpool.co.uk or www.lundgrensfiske.com
There is talk of a 6500 size but when it's available I'm not sure.
