Suckers

Post by edalz »

Does anyone know a place to get large suckers for live bait fishing? I have been interested in trying this and Cabela's has some that are about 6"-7" but I am looking for some larger ones. If anyone knows of a place near Toledo or Detroit please let me know.

I have tried them and they were not helpful but I will try again and if I find a place I will post it.

Nothing good over this way that's near a musky lake, even if you call around, be very specific about how big you want them because lots of folks think the 6-7 inchers are huge. Holden's party store in Milford occasionally has some, but if the kids are working the counter, you sometimes have to prod a little more to get the good ones.

Most bait shops will work with you if you call ahead so they can put in an order to the dealer that provides their minnows. Like the others said, be specific. Seems like most bait shops get their live bait delivered on Friday, fresh for the weekenders..... Our, grow your own! [smilie=smoke.gif]
