Where to go out tomorrow?

Post by DeanV »

I have posted here before about getting out musky fishing, and it has not happened yet. Now, I have just bought a bigger used boat and I want to get it out before the season is done. I have decided I want to hit a lake that offers me a good chance of getting a musky in SW MI. It would be nice if it also offered bass or pike in the lake in case the musky are not cooperating. Right now, I am leaning towards Murray lake. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dean,
You cant go wrong with Murray, but with muskie you can get skunked
anywhere, anytime. You can cast or troll at murray. The water is pretty clear, and the launches are good with outhouses.
The best tip I can give you is to have all the proper tools for the job.
SW michigan muskies are NOT a renewable resource.Have a good/big
net,long nose pliers,hook cutters,camera,and basic first-aid kit.
Good Luck!!

PS-Dont forget your figure 8's.My buddy Scott W had one eat on the 8 a couple weeks ago and it was super exciting!!The fish got off though. [smilie=nutkick.gif]

Well, I did make it out there, but only pulled up to the launch around 5:10, so not much time for fishing. At least I know my new boat runs well now. Took a few casts off the tip of the peninsula and motored around the west arm. Did not spot anything on the depth finder though. I was hoping to spot at least a couple suspended muskies. I was going to try the little cove on the west side, but someone else was in there.
