Fished White from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Didn't get as much time as I was hoping for, but wanted to start to dissect the lake some. Pro-tip…bring your checkbook if you plan to launch at Montague municipal boat launch. Unless I was mislead by the sign; only option was an annual pass; at that point, I was in too deep…cost of doing business. Anyway, decided to bite off a workable section of South shore areas between 6'-15'. Most weeds were petering out deeper than 8-9'. Was solo, but used a mix of trolling and casting of the usual suspects (phantoms, medusas, double bucks, and jerk-cranks). Was actually quite a bit of floating weed debris, which made trolling less efficient, but doable with the Terrova driving while I cleaned boards/baits. No love in the time I had. I chose not to try the steep drops which might have been a mistake, although the flats I was fishing did have the nice drops to depth and current regardless. Was mainly on the East half of the lake. Mentally a little tough to not get any feedback from the lake, but tried to keep the idea that they are there, just need to experiment and adapt. Forgot how much I liked that area. Better luck next time. I have some micro-chip time off coming up; am going to try to hit some of the lake shore to try to generate some confidence in our newer opportunities, but will most likely fall back to at least one day at Thorn.
