Michigan DNR team tallying species in Holloway Reservoir, other lakes
RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Local anglers might have noticed trap net lines stretched out from the shores of several public access lakes in recent days.
Four trap nets were placed at different locations for three nights. Minnow seines were used at six locations, while electrofishing was done at three locations.
All fish were measured, with scale and spine samples collected from game fish to determine their ages. The combined age and size data allow the researchers to calculate growth rates and compare them with statewide averages.
