Although I was hoping to start 2014 with a muskie here's a different trophy. 50 pound striper from Melton Hill Tennessee.

Pretty sweet man, having caught smaller stripers before I can only imagine how hard that thing fought.

Nice fish! Its hard to look at the fish with the soft water, and colors other than white in the background though… Did the trip make coming back to this winter wonderland and waiting months till getting your new boat out more or less bearable?

Thanks guys. JP it's less bearable now. I think the river boat is going to be docked very soon.

Awesome Nick. I am super jealous of not only the fish but the fact that you got out fishing in general. That thing is a tank too.

Had to catch the bait first then it was just a balloon float with a circle hook 10 foot below on a bulldawg rod spooled with 30 pound mono.

Yep clinch river system. Melton hill lake/reservoir. Very unique fishery.
