These are just the tip of the burg…Tell me about it! I've always been fascinated/obsessed with fishing lures since the early age of 9 or so . I began collecting antique fishing lures in the 1980's and joined the NFLCC. Built a large collection over the years while attending lure shows all over the country. I've since slowly sold off a big part of my antique lure collection but still enjoy musky baits in general.
The topic of bait storage was brought up on Muskies First and I think here as well in the past but I'd be interested in hearing and seeing different tackle storage ideas. I may be changing mine up soon and am looking for potential new ideas. My antique lures are in large shadow box cases that open up in the front. At one time my walls were covered with nice display cases but we can't have lures hanging everywhere, now can we?
I've seen Chad's several times and what a nice, spacious and organized display. Let's hear what you've done for lure storage.
Although I've been trying to shrink down the number of musky baits from selling, trading, etc. I still seem to have a crazy amount.

I am a bit ashamed of the clutter… I am in the process of getting baits that I fish in boxes that are appropriate by season or body of water. I will keep my custom painted stuff that I may not fish and my HR's on one rack, but the intent is to get everything else in boxes. So get 3 racks of baits in boxes and off the wall… Remember this if you ever invite me to fish in your boat;)
Jason, if you want to be serious about trolling out on LSC, you can have 100 baits as a starting point, and still not have what you need on a given day. The lake is more color oriented than you would believe. What has to happen is, you see guys catching and hear them on the radio and even talking about the color. Of course, it will be a color you don't have. Next time out, you will have at least 3… Do that for 3-4 years, and your collection will multiply like rabbits…
Then besides color, there is size and action which is greatly different from the start of the season to the end. I probably have 250 trolling baits that I principly use on LSC. No more than 150 on the boat during any one point in the season. Fall is actually easier and I can get away with less than 30… The good news is probably 75 of the 250 do work well on other bodies of water:)

I know you all think I really have problems, but… I am in a much better place… Now, most of what I have, I use and understand what it does. I am probably under 600 muskie lures. This is down from way over 1000 lures in the peak of the sickness… I will probably cut another 50-100, but I am getting down to what I would call basics… So when you take the 250 away that I need to troll LSC, that only leaves 350. Of the 350, probably 60 are baits I don't throw (collect)… That gets me to ~300. Thats not that bad… Seriously…
The grey cabinet is all pike and walleye, which I have scaled back to only what i need and works… So, these don't count.
Chad, if you ever want to get rid of some baits feel free to give them to me or my brother. Im sure we will put them to good use :). The one thing I am concerned about though is the lack of soft plastic baits on these bait boards lol. Chad, only 11 dawgs??? I probably have 60 baits only but 2/3 of those are dawgs/superDs haha.

That is one area of deficiancy. If you watch Keyes outdoors or the badfish videos, thats alll you need…
