Caught this fish at thorn today and thought WHAT THE…..
Fish was upper 30’s and healthy.

Pretty common in stocked fish of any species to have that. Bumping into tanks and what not through the rearing process

That makes sense, it didn’t look like an injury that had healed up. The fact that it didn’t have many teeth was strange as well.

I agree with Nick on that one. You wonder how many are born with being deformed, bent spine, over shot or under shot jaws and even albinos. These things seem to be in all species.

I’ve seen photos of natural born pike and muskies that had this same pug nose, so I think it could also be a mutation as suggested. The hatchery effect is probably more common in the salmonids that are raised in concrete raceways, which the muskies don’t use at Wolf Lake.
