I would bet you guys would agree that Mark's place was pretty awesome, too; and an absolute steal for what you paid at the auction this year. I can't believe more people don't bid this one up higher.
Couldn't agree more, Tory. This trip should have gone for double or more than it did. Wish we could have gotten more people to come. This house could have fit 10 people easy and we had it to ourselves all week. Aside from all the Packers fans everywhere, it was like we were in heaven.
So, Chris and I ran into this Brett Alexander guy on Green Bay back in August while they were filming this show and I couldn’t help but laugh when I found the episode online. We saw them filming out deep for most of the week. We fished this area all week long and had it to ourselves the entire time while there were tons of muskie boats stacked out deep all week. On Thursday morning, one of the guides came up shallow and made a pass by us, probably to check out how we were doing and when he was within shouting distance of us we just happened to catch back to back fish in 20 minutes right in front of him and then the 2 giants back to back maybe 30 minutes later. We saw him get on the phone and then a bunch of guide boats showed up and surrounded us on our spot, including the film crew boat. A few hours later we headed into Geanos for lunch and this Brett Alexander guy and his film crew followed us is. They came up to us at the bar asking how we have been doing all week so we tell him and he was shocked and says they haven’t caught anything all week and no one has really been catching anything at all lately. He said they saw us up shallow and wondered why we were up there because they have never caught anything up there before and they’ve never even fished that far in before.
We watched him catch the first fish in this video. You can actually see us on Chris’ white boat in the background during the footage of the first fish they get and they pan to the graph and it’s the exact spot we fished all week long. The funny part about it, is at the 1:20 mark of the video after he nets the first fish, he talks about why the muskies are up on that shallow weed bed and that he has “all the sweet spots marked out”, yet before that day he had never fished that area before. Gotta sound good for the cameras I suppose…
