Is that a silver carp? Looks like you need less catching and more [smilie=brickwall.gif] 😀

There are a lot of 20-pound kings until they actually get weighed, and then there are a lot of actual 16- to 18- pounders. A 22-pound actual weight king is a beauty. Way to go! Drumbalaya is going on in Mac, a female friend got a 12-pounder two nights ago after a salmon-like run.

Thats a big drum!!
Ive been telling everybody that we weighed that fish on just a low buck rapala spring scale thing, certainly nothing official. I was surprised at its accuracy though. I tested it against a calibrated scale and its really, really close(up to 13lbs) I haven't tested it at heavier weights yet.
I tried putting that fish on my cert scale but it just kept going to ERROR after 13+ lbs. It was ticking me off a bit but maybe that scale isn't built to read heavier stuff. It is kinda small. I can tell ya that fish was tall through the middle. Just a brute!

J-plug magic !! [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Yep, this year is a little different…I seen a 23 on a good scale and had 4 fish over 20 in the boat this year. Compared to last year with over 200 Kings and the biggest was 18.8. Should be some honest 25lb fish this year.

Corey where do you usually fish out of?

Idk if it depends on the area's of the big lake that produce big fish, but last year my dad's charter boat they got quite a few 20+ fish, the best was a 27lber that a 10 year old got to reel in. Great pic too. The fish was the same size as the kid

Nice Kid!….My biggest ever is a 23…and that thing felt like it could pull the boat around…a few others over 20, but kings definitely let you know that a pretty small animal has some guts when you are trying to get them in. I have had some nice bruises at the belt line from having the butt end of a rod stuck in my torso during those fights too. Great natural resource we have with these characters….I love muskies, but there are too we our spoiled with some other great opportunities too. Nice job!
