fished smallies/pike from 10am-4pm.Pristine waters, shield like.water 69-70,and kind of grey milky lookin..kind of discouraged. They had a bad wind or something to mix it all up…I was expectin gin clear..lol.Fished islands, with football to VW sized boulders.3 pike ..nothin over 30,1 smallie.
Feel comfortable with the whole system now,BUT you need to watch your stuff and know where you are going, and know whats on the map,cos the st.marys doesn`t have hazard buoys like LOTW,etc..
Found some fishy lookin spots for muskies, just didn`t like the water condition..looked like greyish /greenish milk.Oh well…should have fished it like wabigoon…LOL..Found some real nice water in MacGregor bay.A endless trollin run of 10-14FOW and beautiful cabbage, some the best I`ve seen…nada..
Found a couple reefs on a side of a island not shown on the map..GRR..and had a nice saddle goin between them and had cabbage in the middle…got a couple pike…looked like a cool muskie spot…
Fun time but a waste of the canadian license..but at leat I can say I made it to canada this year..lol…for 6 hours, also fished a little into canada down in munuscong..
Had to get some gas in canada, and once you step on shore you have to call into customs, and only one person can be touching on land…lol..
As long as your in water you`re ok,on land….you have to check in….I guess they`ll write you a 200$$ fine…we got lucky..
Cool water,fun trip……strange trip….callin it a anniversary TRIP,not a FISHING VACATION..that`s for sure…
Oh yeah….orange barrels, orange barrels, orange barrels…construction everywhere from lake city to houghton, then again roun gaylord to waters..
Soo now takes six hours,as opposed to use to get there in 4 and half hours.
