Fished Webster with Scott Williams. Scott is a good boat partner and a very accomplished fisherman. Even though he has just begun Musky fishing he is off to a great start and has been quietly boating some good fish. Water temps were Very cold at 33.5 when we started and 34.4 by dark. The Bigger boats cleared a path through the ice field so we bumped through the ice bergs and made it to the open lake. We moved several nice fish on various Glides and rubber baits but once again I did not bring the right lures. This lake is as frustrating as any I have ever fished. This time there were a bunch of fish caught on very small hard baits like rattle traps and little bitty crank baits. I brought all the big rubber stuff and Glides. I almost got one on a Hoosier Glide but the darn fish Missed the lure completly. One boat caught 5 or 6 fish including 3 we saw. Another guy caught two trolling little Manns deepdiver. One of these days I will guess right and have the right game plan for this puddle. Kingfisher

When a seasonal pattern changes you need to know OR you need to learn the past seasonal patterns and plan accordingly. Having trustworthy contacts down there helps a ton…
Thats a fact. the boat that did all the catching went right to a certain spot and they tossed very small cranks and little rattle traps. I have learned that December is much like January like when Vince Werrick caught a bunch of fish tossing 5" tuff shads. I thought we would still be in October / November trend . I thought wrong. One thing I will remember is to always bring a better assortment of everything. Kingfisher
