Went out of Port Clinton to try and catch some walleyes. I invited my cousin, who is recovering from a heart condition, and I let him use my favorite muskie rod. We've all been worried about him since he was in the hospital. I was a little concerned that he would only get two hours sleep before driving up from southern Ohio. So when he dropped my rig into the lake I was shocked to hear myself order him to "jump" into 30 feet of water and get my rod. Before I could take it back he threw himself over the side. His dad was with us and he turned to me and said, "Well you've killed him now." Fortunately he eventually came up with my fishing rod clamped in his teeth. Since my muskie boat doesn't have a swim platform it took two of us to drag him over the transom by his belt, which really seemed to amuse the other boats in the area. He then discovered that he had destroyed his cell phone and half the stuff in his wallet.
Unfortunately his fun was just starting. He got pitched three feet in the air on the run back to port and threw his back out, got sun burned when he tried to dry his clothes, and was almost killed a second time when a car lost control on the turnpike, smashed through a guard rail, and came spinning towards my truck.
I'm now taking applications for new fishing partners. Send me a PM if you're interested………………………………..
