Fished Casars Creek from 8:30am – 6:30Pm on 09/07/06 and from 7am-12pm on 9/8/06.
Water temp: 74-79 (surface)
Water clarity/color: Clear in the deep sections but green murk in the coves.
Weed growth: Almost no weeds left anywhere except for a few small patches of gigantic sized lily pads.
Weather: 75-80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.
Fish seen or caught: None.
This lake seems to be better than my results would indicate. I spoke to a local that targets muskies at Caesars Creek and he indicated that 47" plus fish are being taken there. It was his opinion that the fishery is developing quickly due to a huge supply of baitfish. I could believe that, I marked one school of baitfish that appeared to cover an area a quarter mile square and marked thousands of small fish in the coves. It is the deepest lake in Ohio and is over 115 feet in spots.
There are boat ramps in at least three places and these are all multiple dock setups and are well maintained but they are very steep and I wouldn't use them in slick conditions. There is plenty of parking as well. The lake sees a lot of boat traffic and large numbers of crappie and bass fishermen use the lake.
Threw bucktails, safety pin spinners, and Top Raiders in the low light hours. Trolled Talon Slashers and Believers the rest of the time.
