Took a trip to the Western UP from 7/19-7/23. Drove up there Monday morning/afternoon, fished Monday night-Thursday night, started headed back Friday morning, stopped at a lake on the way back for a couple hours, and then arrived home Friday night. It was a great trip and a LOT less expensive than our usual Canadian trip. Fished about 7 different bodies of water which were all new to us. Switched between lakes, rivers, and floodings and also rotated days between action lakes and low densities. Water temp varied between 72-76, water clarity between 2'-10. Fished great tobacco cabbage, curly-leaf pondweed, lily pads, and coontail. Had a lot of follows, hooked some fish, but unfortunately didn't land any muskies. It was great to explore all the new lakes and autochart sections of them. We will definitely be back to fish the ones we liked and also to check out new ones. It was really amazing to have so many lakes/rivers within an our drive of where we stayed.

A lot less money because you go to the most expensive musky lodge in all of NWO lol.
Any lodge on Eagle would still be far more expensive than this trip was. We did the entire UP trip for around $225/person where as any trip to Eagle would most likely be $1000/person with all the extra gas, extra lodging the night before check-in, boat rental, etc. We obviously didn't stay a full week on our UP trip so that explains some of the price drop. If we did stay a full sat-sat in the UP it would still probably half the price of going to Eagle.
That being said, I do miss Eagle a ton and hopefully can get back up there again.
