Spent the day split fishing two lakes.
Lac la Belle in the morning.
Water temp 66-67
Weeds near the launch in the shallow water, 8ft and under. Not much other weeds present outside of shoreline in the rest of the lake. Visibility was around 6-8 ft and seemed pretty stirred up from the previous days high winds. No muskies contacted but what a beautiful lake to be on. We did emend up catching one pike.

Gratiot lake afternoon/evening
Water temps 67-68
Weeds abundant and notably there is a great spine of weeds that is surrounded by deeper water that extends across the lake. The water is really clear with visibility to 14’ or greater. There seems to be a good amount of prey species in the lake and although we didn’t contact any muskies I have no doubt there are probably some lurking around. We did catch a few healthy pike and watching them engage the baits from a distance was a really cool.

If you have never been to copper country I would suggest you do. It’s an awesome area with breathtaking views abundant everywhere. Also, if you’re ever in copper harbor you have to eat at the harbor haus. The food was simply delicious and the view is outstanding.

Good report. I fished Lac Labelle many years ago with my brother and have been wanting to get back ever since.

Thanks for the report! Definitely want to visit that area at some point; probably more of a family vacation than a fishing trip though.
