Michigan Muskie Alliance (MMA) in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has created an educational sign that will help the public "Know the Difference" between muskellunge and northern pike and help them identify the appropriate size limit for each species. The purpose of this sign is to reduce the number of muskellunge that are being harvested because fishermen think they are northern pike and to reduce the number of undersize muskellunge harvested. This sign will be posted at all 95 lakes and rivers in Michigan that are managed for muskellunge. The signs will be checked and maintained at least twice per calendar year by MMA.
Funding for this project in the amount of $5000 was received in April of 2008 from the Hugh C. Becker Foundation in Minnesota.
MMA project chair is David Anderson (Forum name: muskypimp)
Check this out. Talk about "sign security". The border patrol makes two runs a day and stops momentarily at this launch. Don't think they got permission from the MMA to use my cedar post but I think I'll let them slide. The sign does have some nice dents in it from someone but it held up nicely.

I haven't seen any KTD signs at Selfridge on LSC(Anchor Bay). I'm usually lanching out of there 2-3 times a week to fish. I always make a note to check but haven't seen any. ???
I think there are 2 of them there. 1 for sure. Right by the big sign that says how to launch or load. By the untying area.
