I am not familiar with the legislature involved in getting something like this done but I am curious if there has been any sort of effort in the past to get a ban placed on spearing this chain of lakes. If so, how far has it gotten and what are its chances of getting passed and is there anything we could do to help? If not, is this something that we could possibly look into and pursue or is it a lost cause?

I really think that Elk/Skegemog has such a low density overall population that is very consentrated in the winter to a couple areas and is extremely vulnerable to spearing in those areas. Im just wondering if this is something that MMA would support and if so take action on.

Just looking for some info, thanks.

This is step one in the process. <url url="[Permission to view this media is denied]

Spearing regulations are no longer controlled by the legislature. The DNRE can make changes to these regulations without it going through the bill process.

I probably could have looked a little harder for that, thanks for the help.
