With 16 days to the LP inland opening day and just over a month for the UP, the season is coming fast. Are there things you want to accomplish for 2007? Anything goes here concerning fishing/muskie related goals.
I'll start…
– net Tyler's biggest muskie for him
– net Trevor's biggest muskie for him
– work Fish Fest this July, I really missed it last summer
– learn another 25,000 acres on the St Clair system
I'd like to put one more fish in the net for myself then last year. Win the match fishing with my son.. Get out on a few more lakes. Realy want to start to fish Lake Margrethe. With 12,000 Iowa 12 inch muskies going in their over the last few years. I think that it is going to become one of the better inland lakes in Michigan for big fish. I think by 2012 their will be 50 inch fish in that lake. Work on my structure fishing more.
LeMay OUT
1. Find where you can still cast and catch a fish on st. clair after the 20 minute feeding window in early morning.
2. Catch a fish I can brag about
3. Catch a fish while my daughter is in the boat.
4. Learn how to catch a fish at ovid after the water starts looking like pea soup.
5. Find a fish in Sanford other than the 200 yard stretch I know about.

-See a muskie on all the SW Michigan lakes- Macatawa likely the biggest challenge
-Net a personal record for Scott Williams
-Fish two new muskie lakes- most likely candidates Budd, Ovid, Margrethe (haven't fished it since it had muskies), Secord
-Lose graciously in Match Fishing when we draw Will and he goes to St. Clair
-Take a muskie newbie fishing at least twice
-Maintain camera batteries at full charge, and use the camera frequently
1) Put one of my freinds on a personal best or first muskie
2) Get through a season without a cut from a hook or fish
3) Fish Budd and Long lakes
4) Boat 5 more fish than last year (I'll need 25)
5) Pop a 45" or better
6) Catch a fish on a topwater
7) Fish muskies north of the Mackinac Bridge
8 Catch one trolling
9) Have a 3 fish day or better
10) Fish prime hours more… I was in the habit of leaving last year so I could get home before dark. With new LED trailer lights I have more confidence driving in the dark and I will stay on the lake until dark or even after (this will be my key for goals 4, 5, and 9).
well…since the company i work for "polystyrene", at Dow Chemical got bought by Chevron in a joint venture..I may have lots of fishing time …so my goals are:
Get masters degree in Applied Science or Process Technology
Convert more fish on figure 8
fish more and new water
even more LSC trips
Quit buying every lure i see
even with high gas prices fish every wknd no matter what..!!!
1) Get out twice as much as last year, at least once or twice a week. Even if for a couple of hours.
2) Hearing my wife complain about setting up my "replica acount."
3) Going over 46", a barrier that has been hard to break.
4) Learn, learn, and learn. No subtitute for experience and that comes with time on the water.
5) Stick a 30lb flathead this summer.
6) Try to convince myself to fish for "other" fish more.
7) Get my new "used" boat rigged up and pimped out. (Accepting donations.)
Wow where do we go from 2006. The answer is down. After catching 226 fish in 06 Im ready for a kinder season. Michelle and I are planning our Musky hunts on big fish water. I have a few days where Ill be taking my dentist out to Osterhout and Budd so he can get one on a Fly. Shelly and I are looking hard at the the Elk, Skeg and Torch chain. all the way up through Elsworth. Mullet lake , Long lake, Black lake ,Thornapple and Chicagon in the UP. I would like to bust the 40 lb mark. You wont see us out a lot or hear a lot of reports as we wont be chasing skis as much in 07. I just rigged 4 new Perch poles for this spring Perching. Im looking to get back on some of my old Brook Trout streams and will be Bow hunting Deer all through October and November. That means more Muskies for the rest of you. You may see us on Murray a time or two as I feel this lake will put out big un soon.I am deffinatly going to do some Pike fishing on Sanford for one entire week next fall.(late september) Take care everyone and have a good season.
