I'm looking to buy some solid rings for my leaders. I received my order from Thorne Bros., and I forgot to order the rings with the rest of my stuff!!! 👿 Now I don't want to spend $7 shipping for $3 worth of rings. If anyone has some they can spare, let me know. I'm just hoping to hook up with someone at the banquet to save any shipping. (I'm such a cheap Dutchman! LOL!)

Just take some split rings, scratch them up a bit with a your Dremel and a bore brush (for cleaning guns), or some fine sand paper (rolled tight for th inside), and solder them. Use lots of flux but little solder. Experiment. I've found some rings hold solder better than others. You don't have to use the strong, Bucher rings for the solid ones because after you solder them, they are tough! You won't have to buy solid rings again.

I remember I did have a bag of some solid rings at some point or another. If I can locate them in my highly entropic barn I'll mail them to you…but don't hold your breath – the 'locate' portion of that statement could take a month or two.

Sounds like a deal! And I may have an extra one of these to help with that "organization" problem!

You spring for some of these yet, you penny pinchin' dutchman? I started sifting through the barn when you first asked, and stopped 1/2 hour ago when I found them! Only took a month and a half…very respectable, the cleaning has helped! If you still want them, send me your address so one of the other 1,000 ten Haaf's (=5000?) in the phone book don't end up with them.

HAHAHA!!! I'm laughing, and my wife is looking at me like I'm crazy! LOL!! [smilie=bangtard.gif] Yeah, yeah… I'm dutch. I have to be penny-pinchin' on most things so I can buy more muskie stuff! But yes, I did buy some. Actually, Bill bought them, and I traded him for a couple lures. But thanks, Pete! But if you want to make use of them, I'll tie you up a couple flouro leaders for your trouble!
