When:
Tuesday, April 22 at 10 a.m.

What:
Grades 3 – 6, with a maximum of 120 students participating. The stations will be as follows; 1) Catch and release fishing, 2) Pond study/macroinvertebrate study, 3) fly tying/fly casting and 4) Fisheries
Division 101. The last station is a new addition this year that we think will be a great opportunity for students to learn about what Fisheries Division does in the field and what the different equipment is used for.

An invitation to the Michigan Muskie Alliance and it's members to help assist in the delivery of these activity stations for the students with the exception of the Fisheries Division station which will be run by DNR staff. The event will run from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with set up that morning beginning at 8 a.m. or so.

Anyone interested please let me know and I'll put you in contact with Shana at the hatchery.

I just got an e-mail from Shana at the visitor center and she would still like some help from MMA members. If you can make it they sure could use your help!

Here are some photos of the activities. You don't need to be an expert to help at this event you just need to love being outside.

That was pretty frickin sweet to work at. I wish it was closer and not on a Tuesday… The kids were a riot and there was some cool stuff to see in that pond for sure. If I go this year all trout are getting the figure four…
