Below is a posting regarding the MMA outing on Wixom Lake scheduled for June 23rd. I really would like to get a feel for the interest in this outing to make sure it is worth while going forward. Please replay to this post, e-mail or PM me and let me know if you are at least tentatively planning to attend. Last outing only a small handful of the local faithful showed up and while it was still fun I spent way too much on food that went to waste. Thanks all and I really hope we can make a go of this outing this year.
Wixom Lake Muskie Outing
Saturday, June 23rd
Begins at 7 am (1 pm lunch served)
MMA is hosting an outing on Wixom Lake on June 23rd. This is open to MMA members as well as any other musky angler that would like to learn more about muskie fishing and meet other musky enthusiasts for a day on the water. So, bring your friends, the more the merrier.
We will meet beginning at 7 am at the DNR launch off Dundas Road in Edenville since this is high season on Wixom and power boat traffic on the lake and at the launch can get crazy the later in the day we wait. Check the forum for a link with more information regarding the location of the launch or contact me if you don't have computer access. Remember that the DNR sticker required for this launch is different than the one needed for Ovid. I believe that absent a sticker the DNR charges $7 to launch.
We will meet back at the launch parking lot for lunch at 1 pm. I will be donating subs, chips and soda for lunch at no cost to the club. In return I would ask that each participant donate at least one musky lure (new or used matters not) for use at a lunch time raffle. I will be selling raffle tickets at lunch for a shot at the donated lures, all proceeds going to MMA of course.
Contact Scott Scarpelli at work (989) 638-2007 or e-mail me at ** you do not have permission to see this link ** if you have any questions. Hope to see you all there.
Hey Bryan the odds are looking pretty good!
A lot of water for only 7 to 10 boats.
Hey DU
Water on Wixom is normally pretty good.
Visibility should be around 4 to 7 feet.
If you go past the Dale rd bridge or Albright Shores bridge it all depends on how much rain we get. It can get muddy up their. The main basin is real good looking water (east an West side).

So maybe 6-8 boats…Is that what we had last year?Is it a little to early for others to commit??Just wanted to know so when fred does the fig8 newsletter..is this gig on???Is that enough to make a day of it??Up to you guys….
DU
Too early to commit? No one knows about this. It hasn't been in the newsletter. Remember, there are only a small number of people that visit the forum. There are already 12-16 people AND it hasn't even been in the newsletter. Any outing with more than 15 people is pretty good and I know there are at least couple guys in that area that will probably make it.
