Who here has tried trolling plate on there outboard motors?

I was thinking of putting a trolling plate on my motor but I hear it can make your motor handle funny?

Gabe,
You will lose some steering at low speeds because the plate blocks the thrust of water from going straight back. At high speeds you lift it out of the way.
