Just wanted to mention that Scott is a nice guy and was extremely responsive to my inquiry regarding some new reels. I ended up getting three new ones from him and he was very fast in getting them out with a good price and selection. One thing to know or remember is you are paying state of Mi tax as opposed to BPS, Thorn, R&H, ect. So, the free shipping is helpful to offset that and helps make him competitive.

Be careful, Michigan is cracking down on that. All companies outside Michigan are required to report sales to Michigan residents. If you didn't report and pay sales tax on the items purchased out of state, you'll be opening yourself up for an audit.

Thanks guys for all your support! I know we're still smaller than the "other guys" but we've been trying to add a little more every month until the time is right for a "real" store. Will let you all know when we get the catalog done too, but that probably won't happen until closer to the fall. Thanks again!

Yes as Will stated you all should be paying your taxes on out of state purchases. Its called Use Tax. We write all of our fishing related items off so we had to report the .06% use tax and pay it if we wanted to claim the items as deductions.IF companyies like Rollie and Helens start reporting sales to out of state buyers audits could be retroactive. They can charge you interest on every penny you didnt pay. We started paying use tax when we started in buisness. We cant be too carefull these days. Kingfisher
