I am finally getting to putting together a boat, and trying to get the electronics system in order. I have the 2 graphs already, and was wondering about all the ridiculous options that you can waste money on. Which of the HB accessories do you all wish you had, or that you have and can't live without, or wish you would have wasted your money. namely I am thinking about things like an NMEA output, the weather sense module (reads barometric pressure, and keeps a recording last 24 hours, and uses it to predict 24 hrs ahead), maybe the cannon link (which I have pretty much eliminated but is cool anyhow!), and I-pilot link…

anyhow, let me know what you think. I could go with none of it and live comfortably, but if any are useful enough to make it worth a few extra bucks I'd like to get them now, instead of hacking up a new boat myself and getting them later [smilie=bangtard.gif]

I have a HB 997 with side imaging and I have the weather sense and I do not use it. It just becomes another thing to watch and try to factor into an already complex equation. If you spend more time playing with electronics than fishing them you might as well stay home. I know I should pay more attention to the pressure and about 20 other things but I would rather fish.

For the weather stuff your prolly better off just getting an app on your phone.

thanks guys… I really am not sure I follow weather now as it is, when you only get out when you can get out, weather is kinda the last thing on your mind. I do like to keep track of it a bit, but honestly it doesn't influence much other than what I am going to use and where I am going to go. The NMEA thing on inland lakes is pretty much a toy, as with the cannon link (for the 2 times a year I would use riggers), but I Pilot link seems pretty cool. the I Pilot more for the walleye trolling than the musky fishing, but I see you can still use a foot pedal with the terrova with the I Pilot on, so it might be manipulated to be a handy tool.

Some of the iPilot functions are great-anchor tops the list bit the saved course function is nice for running down your favorite break or weed line.

I use my phone for weather but there are lakes like Bankson and Long lake where I have no reception at times.

Good luck with your project!
