It's that time of year again! I'm looking for volunteers to work the Ultimate Sport Show in GR on March 17-20. Any help at all is greatly appreciated and working the booth gets you free entry into the show. This is one of our biggest opportunities to spread education to the general public and I think last year went really well with a lot of interest in the booth. Please respond to this post or PM any dates/times you are able to work along with your full name and cell phone number.
March 17: 3pm -9:30pm
March 18: 11am – 9:30pm
March 19: 10am – 9pm
March 20: 10am – 6pm

It's a nice break from my normal conversations with 2,5 and 8 year olds [smilie=cheers2.gif]
Count me in. I'm flexible on times and will plug whatever hole is needed.
Even though I just learned from JP that I should be sharing beers with my 6, 10 and 12 year olds while we have our normal conversations, I'll still enjoy the break! Love working the show. And thanks for the tip JP!
I would like to help out this year. I will be attending to cover some seminar or other for a story and will be doing a relief hour or two at the Rapala booth (if there is one this year). I'll post my availability when I figure out what I'm doing for the paper. Or if we're full up with volunteers, I'm happy to provide a lunch break for someone.

Any time! Just beware that people will look at you strange when they insist on a sip or two while in public…
That and punctuation is important.
Here is what I have so far. I know a lot of you guys are very flexible with hours and days so just let me know if you would like to work more hours or extra days. This also isn't a 'set in stone' schedule so feel free to show up early or stay later if you would like to. I will try to bring some anti-fatigue mats for the booth this year too to help with the long hours standing.

When and Where do we pick up our Credentials?
During Move-In (Tues, Weds or Thurs) – Your staff may pick up credentials in the Show Office – 3rd Floor Grand Gallery Overlook, Meeting Room A
During the Show (Thurs-Sun) – Your staff may also pick up credentials during show hours at the Exhibitor Table located at the main public entrance on Monroe Ave.
Business card, Driver's License or State ID is required for Exhibitor Check-In / Credential Pick-Up.
I had a couple questions about the show so I wanted to give a little more detail. Basically MMA has a booth with a lot of information about the club, stocking, research projects, etc and just need people to man the booth and talk muskies. I'd say the biggest attraction to our booth is a map which shows all the muskie lakes in Michigan. A lot of people just like to look at that and see any lakes close to where they live. It is a great converstaion stater and a great way to bring people into the booth.
We're not selling anything or trying to make money at the show, we just want to get more information out there to the public. We usually have pamphlets or some sort of handout which people can take if they wish and some information about how to join the club if anyone is interested. We've also had a replica which kids can hold and get a picture with which is also a big attraction.
To sum up, we're just looking for people to talk muskies with the general public and try to answer any questions people may have.
Here is the updated schedule for working the booth. This is a loose schedule so feel free to show up earlier and/or stay later if you would like. I will try to bring some anti-fatigue mats to ease standing for hours. Also, people working long hours might want to bring their own food and beverage. Thanks again!
