Most of the tube action I've seen & heard from others has been working it more like a jerkbait about midway between the surface and the bottom. So just popping it along and letting it do its crazy tube dipsy do thing, this action definitely sets it apart from other lures and gets bit when others wouldn't. Although the bottom bouncing method works too, especially in certain situations.
I've even heard the dead-stick method can work too, lay it on the bottom while the expert angler:
a) grabs a samich
b) chugs a beverage
c) takes in the scenery
d) picks a backlash
I have the Tiger tubes and only used them once, why probably operator error. Was doing what Duke said, threw it out about 20' from the boat and put my rod down and we were just sitting BS's about nothing. I started to notice my line barley moving, so I let this go for about 5 minutes. So I finally set the hook and wound up with a 37" pike. I guess I need to break out the Michelin Man again!!
