I tried trolling with Planner boards this weekend. I have used them many times, but never for muskies. I tried one of the weighting systems on a DCG. Had no idea how far down I was or wasn't. Has anyone tried trolling planners? We trolled Kickin' Minnows, Jakes, DCG. I contemplated trolling a phantom. Am I nuts to even consider trolling DCG and phantoms? My thought was, "If these baits can work just below the surface, properly weighted wouldn't they work lower in the surface column?"

Thoughts?
