I'm in Sanford but the weeds make it tough to troll. I was thinking maybe the chain.

hey Joel, sorry to hear about the struggles with your back.

Short line trolling can work in the weeds in the Tittabawassee lakes too- like 6' to 10' of line out with baits running just under the surface. Seems crazy but it is awesome when it works. Loosen that drag!! Give that a try when you're close to home.

And Budd is actually good for open water trolling too- that small lake keeps you on your toes constantly turning, but the fish do suspend there. Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon

Well to narrow it down for you, all the lakes on the Antrim chain suck lol. If you have the time it can be rewarding though. There's tons of great structure in each and 90 percent of the fish I catch are in the top 1/3 of the water usually in or around bait of some sort. Focus on bait/weeds and eventually you will run into something. It's a commitment but there are some really big fish in those lakes that seem to prefer trolled baits. Just gotta grind it out. If you're in the area let me know and I can probably give you current info.
