Anyone have some advice for trolling the US side of LSC on Sat? Weather looks like pretty calm and blue bird skies (2nd day of post front). I'm not much of a troller (I usually cast LSC). I'll be fishing in a friends boat with 3 others, so we'll pretty much have to troll. However, I stocked up on some Slashers this spring and am anxious to get them in the water on LSC. Is Anchor Bay too weedy for trolling this time of year? Have the fish turned on at the Dumping Grounds yet? I've also considered trolling the channels a little deeper due to the post cold front conditions. What do you guys think? Thanks!!!
Fish have been hot on the south shore. From the red barn to the Belle river hump. I have heard some awsome numbers like 17 for 26 and 14 for 21 by one boat. Heatwave Charters has boated 4 fish over 30 lbs in the last two weeks. Michelle and I loved the bluebird days and calm lake conditions. Use planer boards and fish the Slashers back 20 to 40 feet using 2 to 3 ounces of weight. 25 and 2 is the standard. If you cant do Canadian waters try the run from nine mile tower to the River mouth and the Dumps. But the truth is the Canadian shoreline is on fire. I am stuck here trying to sell my house and cant go anywhere until I sell it. ARRRGGG!!!! SPEEDS AT 4.3 MPH gps. Look for color lines in the water clear to stained. In Clear water run natural patterns like browns and perch. In the off color run yellow belly and red bar colors. Good luck and call me if you need any more advice about trolling St. Clair. 231-733-9324 Mike and Michelle
