In an effort to figure out the best way to convert Lunge Log information for the MOFC I played around with the MMA stats from 2004. I found it very interesting and thought everyone might want to take a look. #1 wasn't a surprise at all, St Clair is such an amazing fishery.

Very interesting indeed. Murry suprised me, but the avg. size for the Sanford fish wasn't a suprise, normally if one is caught its a decent sized fish..

There are always catchable fish, suspended or on the break, you just have to figure out which ones to fish for.

No Jim – More like 30%. Then again, we both logged some serious hours last summer.

I've been edited by the moderator… 👿

Murray is as good as some of the Indiana lakes but it can also be really tough! Ask Fred Becchetti… he's been there a number of times and has never caught a fish.

There was a 44" muskie caught in Grand Haven yesterday…

I can't believe there was that many fish caught on Murray! That is incredible seeings that St. Clair only had like twice as many fish caught. I would like to see the breakdown for hours spent with out catching a fish. How many of Sanford's fish that were logged were from the tournament, and then what Bomba caught last year, and that makes up the whole season for that chain.

If you don't mind limiting yourself to catching only small 30-45" fish then hit some of the new lakes. Check out the stocking list and look at the lakes that were stocked in 97, 98, 99 and 2000.

Wixom on the east side is nearly untapped. I wish I was closer it could easily yeild a bunch of fish for someone willing to learn the lake.

I would go on but I've gotta get on the road to the Indiana Muskie Classic.

I'm out.

Looking at the DNR stocking Data from Jan 95 to Dec 98 for the muskie in the 40 in class.
Co. # of stocking
Allegan 1
Barry 1
Cheboygan 2
Clare 2
Gladwin 12
Iron 4
Kent 3
Lewawee 10
Macknac 1
Monomine 3
Midland 5
Ottawa 1
School Craft 4
Vanburon 3
Wayne 2

So it looks like the UP got 12 stockings
West side of the state got 13 stockings
East side of the state got 31 stockings
I think the east side of the state gets fished more. 😯

And Will I did some math from the MOFC and Its higher then 30 %
