Hi Jim, we found that on St. Clair running the straight Mordas 6 inch on a down rod with 4 ounces and 20 feet back with Slashers out on the boards was the one two punch we needed to score a lot of huge fish last year. Mike Mordas makes as good a cedar lure as anyone out there. We will never part with the ones we get. I am also partial to 5 " Tuff Shads as they also work well with our Slashers. You see its a speed thing. These three lures run great at the same speeds. The combinations of these three lures has been deadly for us on St. Clair. Hoginaters are another great Cedar lure that works well with our Slashers. I only have a couple of Tims baits left and need to get 6 or 8 more. Cedar trolling lures are my first choice on St. Clair. One more thing , Michelle loves the Squirrly Burts. We just got some of good tail glue so we can repair them now. Mike
What no duckies? Com'n!!! Jeez I better subscribe to the thread……baits I ain't gonna throw (or troll) this year……….
1. All the duds I got rid of on E-bay
2. 10" Believers
3. Buzzbaits of any kind
4. Shallow Invaders
5. Burmeks
I believe that any particular bait may catch a muskie if you put it in the right spot at the right time. But, there are some baits that are just fish magnets, not necessarily because of the brand……the bait just "has it". Non of my squirrelys run "true" side to side up and down, they work consistently erratic and thats the key.
