yes there are tigers in there…actually a lot of them. I caught two in one day there and had a follow from another plus multiple follows from other natural muskie. Tigers are not stocked there, they occur naturally. For some reason in this lake northerns and muskie love to mate. BTW, this lake has got to be the easiest lake in michigan to fish. It is completely oval shaped with good weeds throughout. The downside is, the fish seem skinny.
I caught a tiger in there as well , 34 incher on a little claw. High numbers lake and they love a copper carp Little claw. Had a 7 fish day there. Michelle and I always include it in our west UP trips along with Lac Labelle, PV Pond(Paint River) Smoky and Chicagon. I think we as a club should have an outing up there at Bewabic state park. Yes, Mike, I remember when we were talking about Bewabic State park and a potential outing a few years ago on the Forum. I'll never forget when I saw a big buck and 3 other deer fleeing from my assigned camp site when I arrived there many years ago. I had a guide who took me to the Paint River and Emily one Fall weekend. I got 3 all on quick strike rig on The Paint in the afternoon and a mid 30 on Emily in the morning on a grandma, as I recall. No Tigers seen, however. Beautiful country!
