Sometime in the next 24 hours the fisheries order will be signed by the director of the DNR and muskellunge management in Michigan be changed forever. I feel like I'm waiting for my wife to deliver a child!
Emailing back and forth with the fisheries chief right now as he is sitting in the NRC meeting. No comments on the pike or muskie regs, just waiting for Keith to sign the order after the meeting or in the morning. It just got real Muskie peeps!

Here it is! Keith Creagh, MI-DNR director (holding FO-215.13) with Jim Dexter, Fisheries Chief just after signing the new muskellunge regulations. One fish per license year with tag is now a done deal!!

Hellelujah!!! Monumental achievement by MMA in our great state, and mega-milestone for muskies everywhere since others will likely follow this lead!
Mr. Schultz, you may irritate some of us at times but this absolutely would not have happened without you starting and leading MMA to this historic accomplishment. We wouldn't have the club and our state's muskie fisheries as they are now, and where they are going next, without all you've done.
The least I can do is cover a few rounds for you at the swap, to salute this unforgettable feat. If the evening becomes the celebration I think it might, I only request that designated drivers be arranged as needed.
