O.K. what am I doing wrong. Pulled this up, clicked on the map for Lenawee Co. It say's Devils Lake and a Globe Mill Pond and tell's you about the access site and little more. I don't think there are Muskies in either and dosen't say a word about Hudson. So what am I doing wrong?
Nothing. It's a cool idea with bad information.
I'm working on getting it reparied because I think it will make a great tool for new anglers.

[quote="mskyprey"]Correct me if I am wrong (and I know you will !!) but it will be a long time before they catch Muskie out of the Long lake sectional map advertised in St Joe county..
It was probably a tiger lake back in the day.
ahh interesting…..
There are no Muskie in Long Lake anyways..

They should leave Hudson blank….it has no muskies!
I do think the information is misleading in some regards. It is accurate in some ways. We do have a Mona Lake. There is ramp (although it is not usable). It will be under reconstruction soon. And if there are any muskies in the lake, there isn't a high enough concentration to even consider looking for them. It is a fantastic bass lake. [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Hey, Mona Lake is on the list for a future GLS program with a gazillion 12" gizzard shad that need to be consumed. We'll have the support of the Mona Lake Association. I chat with Brenda Moore, president MLA at our local meetings.
That is great news!! Muskies love those things and with big shad like this I'm sure that lake will produce some monster fish in the future.
Tom,
You are correct. It would be a good fishery. I think it is great that future stockings may go there. My point was and is the information on that site was misleading. There isn't a functional ramp. The one previous was in terrible shape. The lake is heavily polluted and is often the "butt" of many jokes.
At this time, I don't know of anyone who would call Mona Lake a muskie fishery. I just simply believe it is misleading to label it as such.
Mark
Mark is correct. The Mona Lake road to recovery is very long and painfully slow. We have made progress and will make more now that the MLA is organized to the point of achieving dollars for restoration and the new North shore ramp is on the way. We still need to get city Norton Shores to put in a South shore boat launch and they have the property, but that is another topic. Meanwhile it will be years before any GLS fishery could materialize. That timeline will see many improvements to Mona Lake as the GLS program is part of the recovery process on a parallel course. I hope I can live long enough to see a cleaner Mona Lake and GLS fishery come together.
