Thank you Chad for your time and personal help with the fine points of leader construction. Talking about leader construction on the forum is great, but being able to watch, ask questions, and take notes is priceless.

Dittoes! Thanks, Chad.

And, Chad, I think your crimper is a Jinkai (no surprise) SC-3C crimper:

Does that look right to you?

It was my pleasure… I actually was feeling a little bad about not prepping better. I felt a bit disorganized… But i appreciate the comments. And if you EVER have any questions, I am happy to share what i know…

Hemi, I think that is the cripmping tool…

For those who were there, and wondered about the knot for fluoro we were talking about, here're some easy instructions for hand tying it: the reverse-nail or Gryp knot (courtesy of Lee Tauchen):

This knot never slips; it gets tighter as it's pulled, and can't be loosened (once it's tight) by pushing in on the fly end. Some, like the Stealth Tackle leaders I've gotten, crimp the fly end to the main line after tying it, but I don't think that's necessary.

You may have trouble getting the loops to tighten up in the proper order the first few times (that's the hardest part), but if you catch it before you pull it up tight, you can start over.

You can also get one of these for $8, which comes with instructions, and makes tying them joke-easy:
