It is connected to Muskegon Lake so it is possible. Hornings Duck Lake is fed and drained by little Cedar creek .It has good Pike fishing now . We know that some Muskies are roamers and travel creeks and rivers. If the great lakes program gets off the ground and Muskegon Lake gets stocked we could see some up in Hornings during the spawn. But even without Muskies its a real nice little fishery. We plan on being easy on the lake by not taking too many fish out. We are about two weeks away from being there. Mike

The lake is also a good for bluegills, once the seasonal patterns are figured out. The lake can be finicky and not consistant for finding the larger gills. I'm sure the Kings will take time to relax and pattern the lake. Nothing wrong with good meals.

Well we have passed the last hurdle ( a nasty snag in the title work). It looks now like it is all coming together. Tons of work to do now.

Tom, the reason the lake is finicky is that it does not have huge populations of anything in it due to large shallow flats. Michelle and I have been fishing it for several years. It gets plenty of pressure from locals who carry in and launch small boats into the creek. Michelle and I could do serious damage to Blue gill populations if we were the destructive types. Thank god we are not. The Pike population has been fished down by locals but the ones that remain are nice ones. We plan on not killing any pike in this lake. In fact I will approach the D.N.R. and see if they would put in a couple hundred. All in all it is a nice little lake to live on and a great place for lure testing . We have wild strawberries and apple trees already on the property and we plan on adding some more fruit trees and a garden. I cant wait to get started. Mike
