I am tentatively planning a trip up to the UP to the Whitefish point area next weekend (10/22) to check out the fall bird migration at the point and do some fishing up there as well. I plan on fishing the Tahquamenon River since I have heard good things about it lately. Just looking for a little advice as to where a good access to put the boat in at is and what areas of the river would give me a good chance to see some fish.

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. You can reply or PM me anytime. Thanks alot.

Put in at "Old Faceful" on the East Branch and go from there to the main river.

If you are staying up near the Point, you will notice a boat launch right at the Rivermouth State Park & campground. That is the only access below the falls, except for the rowboats you can rent at the Lower Falls State Park- which by the way is of course a great fishing spot and a good way to go!
