I have a 10" jointed believer(plastic and rattling) and want to make it suspending. Anyone have tips to fab this thing so it'll work? Or will I just be wasting my time….

The ones I've had that got water in them (becoming suspending) never worked quite right again and ended up in the trash. That lure is perfect, different and more versatile than any other crankbait. From using is as a topwater to banging off rocks 15' deep in the fall it is one of the best crankbaits ever made.

Thanks for the tip Will. It was just never one of my confidence baits, so i thought it would make a good experiment. I'll leave her as is. Don't fix it if it ain't broke, right?

Matt,
If ya just want to try it without ruining the lure, just attach some small
bell type sinkers to the split rings.Play with the balance in your sink
or when your taking a bath(watch those hooks!!) If the action doesnt
work out for ya,just pull the weights back off -no harm,no foul.

Once again, thanks for the tip. But I gotta trust Will that that lure is probably impossible to improve. Maybe I'll try the same idea with some other older baits tho.

That is one of Doug Johnson's go to baits and he runs in the top eye and then attaches a sinker to the lower eye to give it a slower rise and a stall, I think that is what kid was alluding to with the weights I have done it a few times and it does work.

You got it Kev.
Ill attach them at the hook locations also just to try and get
that nice even balance. I got a 10" Jake that suspends real nice.
Gets a little heavy to throw around but shows them a little different
look. Plus you dont ruin an expensive lure,I think we all have done
that a time or two. [smilie=bangtard.gif]
