You guys like it better than Power Pro? If so, why? I don't know much about that brand.

not sure on logistics and technical jargon, but I used to go thru a spool of powerpro every year, to season and a half. I'm on season three and haven't even flipped most of the sunlisunline. I have cut a little off, but the stuff is smooth and it stays that way.

I won't go back to power pro. I took everybody's advice and tried it and it's hands down best braid I've used.

I've had the same power pro for several seasons on some reels and only flipped them once. Everyone has different experiences with diff line. I never have had Any issues with power pro except maybe the digging into a reel or the line getting flatter.

Excited to try the sunline though

My two issues with PP are:

1- holds a ton of water, which sucks in Spring or Fall when temps are cold
2- random break-offs, especially on backlashes One day I lost a Hardhead I was quite fond of that I had bought at the banquet and that was the final straw for me.

I started switching over my reels to Suffix 832 which I felt was a big improvement over PP. Then I started using Sunline based on the advice of some guys on here and I like it even more than the Suffix. I still like the Suffix but when it needs replacing I will switch those over to the Sunline as well.

I've avoided commenting on this for obvious reasons… In a nutshell I was getting no more than 100 hours from powerpro or Cortland and I'm now getting 400 hours per reel from Sunline, it's that much more durable.

I wouldn't mind trying Sunline, why don't they make it in white?

Years ago I decided to experiment with the most common (PowerPro, PowerPro Slick 8, Cortland Bronze, Spiderwire, Spiderwire Invisabraid, Suffix 832 and Sunline FX2). Powerpro seems way to thick, rough, holds water, bleeds and digs in/flattens. Slick 8 was horrible….very slippery and flattened a lot. When your hands got wet you couldn't even control the line. Cortland Bronze I couldn't stand. Don't know why but never liked it. Spiderwire I've broke several times from different spools. The Invisabraid was my go to line for a long time. Never any issues and liked it until I tried Suffix 832. That has been my favorite up until Sunline. Sunline seems so soft yet strong. It repels water better than anything and feels so thin compared to others. It holds its shape, never frays and never digs or flattens. I've been using the exact same Sunline FX2 for 3 seasons on both Tarpon and Muskie with zero issues. I've abused this line on Tarpon and still using it for Muskie. I actually converted the guys down south I fish with to Sunline for Tarpon. They love it compared to all other lines as well. Plus, I just love the blue/green color that hasn't bleed at all and very easy to pick up on the water. I don't see myself changing anytime soon. I wanted to experiment with all these lines and I did. Sunline really is that much better in my opinion. Spend the money if you can when it's time to buy new line and I think you'll be happy on how great it really is.

Steve,

Don't worry about the white.. The blue/green color is great, very easy to see on/in the water and for some reason it looks really sexy on reels. They have a solid green color but I prefer the blue/green. Next time your due for new line..try it. You'll love it!

Just my thinking why I use white, is there looking up and being brighter do they have a harder time seeing the line.
