Took me forever to boat a fish on a Suick. I have a few of them and every one works different.
The best (maybe because I throw it the most?) is an unweighted guy that "does the death wobble" on the rise. "The death wobble" is (pretend you are at the same depth and looking at the "face" of the bait as it rises) a side to side roll. The bait tilts left, then right, then left, etc all the way to the surface. Of the 4-5 unweighted Suicks I have only one does it GREAT and none of the weighted Suicks do it, though I've caught a couple fish on weighted Suicks, too.
Rollie told me (back when R&H had a website forum) to buy the Suicks with the "highest eye", i.e., compare in the store and choose the one that has the eye highest on the face, plus, the eyes that hold the hooks should always be lined up like rudders while fishing. You can tweak the hook eyes with pliars, just like bending the tail.
Anyone else hear of the death wobble thing? Will?
Thanks

The reason I would never buy a Suick sight unseen!

Yes but I never let mine sit still long enough.
