I am a big fan of St. Croix rods and recently had a rod with a broken guide. I checked into their service program and found the gold star plus upgrade program. Basically, you send them the damaged rod, $50 and the cost difference between the rod you returned and the rod you want. I got the new rod six days after I mailed the old rod.
