Anyone heading to Lake St. Clair today? Any suggestions for this time of year for locations and/or baits?

Will has a pretty good power point he did a couple years ago. It's on this website somewhere, just search for it.

Here's Will's ppt. All of the locations he has pointed out are usually good for spring. Our trip out Sat. was not great for musky, but we caught bass (what Scott's dad was actually targeting) and pike in the reeds all over. Water temps from the north channel where we launched to Marsac were still around 55, weeds and reeds are not yet well developed – looks like we are about 2 weeks behind last year's opener. West side of the lake was closer to 65 & no one really had a hot bite (for musky anyway) – casters, trollers, or shore fisherman.

If you troll, don't count that out though, can be very productive. Lots of patches of muddy water throughout the lake from the wind the day before found lots of folks trolling the edges of the muddy areas.

Can't stress safetly enough, I know your boats not huge – always keep an eye (or ear if you have the radio on) out for the weather, it can come up on you quickly. Can get a lot of info on <url url="[Permission to view this media is denied]

fishing reports too. Not a lot of musky talk there right now b/c the bite just hasn't taken off yet for the year.
