it made a difference to a few lures for trolling i noticed last year, a larger ring gave my lure, like a jake, more wobble, wider i mean…were a smaller one was more snug and tightened the action just a little bit, and speed is a factor, just have to experiment. There are lots of variables, how its attached to lure, and leader, just depends what you are looking to get out of it.
