Can anyone tell me or show me what a school of cisco would look like on sonar? I thought I had found some… Basically a lot of fish in an area about 15'x15' suspended over 68-70 FOW. I stayed with them for over an hour,fan-casting all around, but didn't come up with anything. Then after a few hard gusts of wind, I lost them and couldn't find them again.

Sounds like you found crappies or cisco. I can sometimes tell the difference in certain fish on my graph (a school of rockbass looks very different from a school of perch) but most of the time you are going to be guessing based on where/what you see on the graph.

There was a group of ice fishers from Muskegon targeting the cisco. They may have some sonar tips. I'll ask and see what they say.

Probably was a school of cisco but just because you dont catch anything doesnt mean its not a good school of baitfish. We go over so many huge schools of baitfish when at murray but mainly catch fish when there isnt a school on the sonar.
