Hi guys,

I was wondering what type of GPS/Sonar units you guys use? Most of my buddies that fish bass tournaments use Lowrance and I am inclined to go that way but I have an open mind. I am looking for a unit that has decent sonar, can lead me directly to a GPS co-ordinate and could keep a record of all my trips.

I want to build a database of my trips that would mark a follow of a good fish or a strike and keep it in a log so over the years I could follow some patterns.

I already have a portable GPS but it is old and can not do what I want it to do, so I am looking for a dual unit. I would also like to know what map card you use, what you would buy and why? I have not listed my budget on purpose because I don't want to limit the different responses I might get. Any help would be appreciated.
