Some people are a lost cause. This is an obvious case. These are the same kinds of guys who kill every button buck in site, and then complain there aren't any deer of size.
If anyone feels like fighting it out with these fools have at it.
They are confused and only listen to what Mike Holmes tells them. Accorging to Mike females are mature at 4 years… according to the rest of the world they're mature at 6-8 years.

The comments about Bluegill in that thread are one I've witnessed in a lake down the road.
Small lake used to be loaded with Bull bluegill, and then every body and his two brothers started parking on their beds and pulling 25 per person off their beds, for days at a time.
Think the Bluegill population and size are the same anymore?

I don't get it. These are the people who would complain about extra regulations, yet display behaviors and produce results that would require those extra regulations.
They are also going to be the first ones to complain about decreased populations. Heck you see that all over MI with Walleye populations. Have you ever known anyone in MI to RELEASE walleye?
It is a musky issue, but with some of those guys, it's general Sportsman issue. They have no idea what that means.
Man that just pisses me off. How irresponsible can folks be.
You know, I'm not really like you guys, that are hardcore Musky fisherman. I fish for everything. And reality of the situation is, I won't be able to afford to fish musky for a few years, as I'm starting school full time after Christmas and we have a family.
I fish mostly bass.
Point is, I have an interest in the health of MICHIGAN'S fisheries. I just don't get the mentality that if you are bass fisherman, walleye fisherman, panfisherman, or fish X, then that must mean that all other fish are of no use.

Same goes for hunting. Hell, I don't hunt at all anymore. But it blows my mind that guys complain about the size of Bucks, and then kill every spike that walks by there stand. And now, I've heard LOTS of complaints about lower deer populations. Yet guys have been killing SEVERAL deer every season. How many tags can you get now? Hell even guys who lease land, will talk the land owner into buying land management doe tags.
I love fishing big crooked for early ice, the one right by Murray. There are lots of gills, and its a blast awalking around, hole hoping dropping little hints to all the guys complaining about the big gills getting "wise". Its almost laughable. last time I was there I talked to 30 people, claiming that there were at least that many people there for 2 weeks, every day/night, all taking "limits" if we call that 20-ish fish, thats like 600 gills a night, for 2 weeks, thats 8400 gills in 2 weeks…. hmm [smilie=attention.gif]

Firefighter is an idiot, but we still need to be careful not to get into fights with these guys as they will probably spear muskies just to spite us. Duke and Pikedevil are great examples of how we need to respond as their tone isn't combative and they provide good, scientific data.
The biggest thing I always find funny is they say tons of muskies die as we rip huge crankbaits out of their gills or we fight the fish for 20minutes in 80 degree water; they obviously don't know anything about how long it takes to fight, net, and unhook a fish.

Don't be too hard on him. He likely has high levels of mercury, dioxins, PCBs, phosphate pesticides and a few other very noxious toxins building up in his tissues from years of eating decades-old top-tier predator fish, and can no longer reason properly. lol ya the few muskies on a 4000 acre lake decimated the population, but the 50-60 guys out everyday on the ice didn't bother the population lol..
This is the reason why Man is the ultimate destroyer of all living things. We eventually will destroy the planet we live on because of a mentality like this. It's pathetic.

You do not have the ability to see everything that is posted on the M-S.com violators forum, so don;t get too upset at what you can't control. The M-S moderators routinely censor and control the postings to suit their agendas and/or stir the pot to generate readership and more money for Steve. The M-S.com moderators also have another forum located at the bottom of the forum front page that is completely invisible to the readers. This "Moderator's Only Forum" is where the moderators comment everyday between themselves on just about anything including calling the individual posters (including certain members of the MMA) as that friggin ahole or those morons and idiots. The moderators may also put the poster in what they call their "miserable user status" Example, in this spearing thread a "miserable user" can see their reply looking normal, but the reply is really invisible to the other posters like it doesn't exist. The ''miserable user is actually only posting to themselves, but is left wondering why no one is responding to their comments pro/con. Go ahead and continue to post on the M-S.com site and be frustrated at the aholes on the M-S.com site if you wish, but don't expect to view the M-S.com Mod forum comments about the MMA members.
Just curious, who is pikedevil on this M-S forum? I am assuming they are also an MMA member. Whoever it is though is doing a great job of responding to these tools without anger and giving sound scientifical arguments. That is the way we need to deal with people like that. You cant stop ignorance, but you can help fix it by responding to it in that sort of way. Kudos to whoever that is.
