I recently picked up a couple Shallow Mag Dawgs. I couldn't turn them down… $9.00 for 2, shipped to my door. (Gotta love the buyselltrade on Muskies first [smilie=2thumbsup.gif] )

Anyways, what situations would you use these in? I've only ever run the Mag Dawgs weighted. My only thought is to use them where weeds are coming close to the top of the water.

They are great for shallow weeds but I also like them for those days when the fish are reacting slowly. I like them on these days because they fall a lot slower than the regular mags and that means they hang in the fish's face longer.

Do they really make that much of a difference? They are only like 1/2 oz lighter, aren't they?

huge difference! really have to work it like a totally different lure. They're kinda too light though, because they don't often run true and upright without the big ballast. its a good idea to try a few splitshot in the belly just help them keel-under better. I like em
