I got an email from Hamilton stating that MMA supported SB248. The fact is I had not even heard of the bill until his email. It is as I thought. He sees MMA as a group of Republicans who support everything right wing. He could not be further from the truth. The fact is this club does not support any candidates or particular party. We support Muskellunge restoration, stocking and protection. We support education of anglers regarding Muskellunge.
SB248 has nothing to do with Muskies or this club. It is a bill that caps how much land the State can own and may even force the sale of some public land. Most of this is in the Upper peninsula where it is mostly state and federally owned. The bill was sponsored by a Republican senator from up there. I for one am not sure where I stand on this bill. I for one do not want to see State or federal Governments have the right to seize private lands but also do not want to see public use lands sold for pennies on the dollar. I favor a balanced approach. Mike
He seems confused. On one hand he sees the MMA as a muskie specific organization, and on the other wants to affiliate MMA with all things (muskie related or not) rght wing. MMA has members of the right, left and middle. HR only hears what he wants to and twists it to support his political agenda. Although I applaud his conservation efforts and am always looking to learn from others I don't care for his politically motivated, "go to hell", insinuating and insulting posts.

All I know is if this club affiliated itself with EITHER party, doesn't even matter which one, I wouldn't be a member. I hate politics, I want nothing to do with politics, and certainly wouldn't spend a cent supporting a club that backed one party or another, or pushed any political agenda. The guy is full of it, and always has been. I think its about time he's gone. He provided nothing to the club and if anything was an enemy to the club. The fact that our taxes pay his salary is sickening to me.
His attacks started before the new Governor was even sworn in. They were screwing the sportsmen and D.N.R. before they even fielded a single bill according to him. This is sour grapes from a party that lost this state because they could not deal with the current issues of way too many social programs and no money to pay for them and a job loss history(second to none) tied directly to Nafta and G.A.T.T. signed by their hero Bill Clinton. I know many Liberals who see things exactly the same way he does. Somehow he seems to think we are all right wing Corporate lobbyists bent on destroying our natural resources .
🙄 🙄 Please no more emails. Mike
